What's
New
Joys
of the Season!
So already, Christmas is upon us and another
year is passing. The last year has been markedly more challenging from
so many different standpoints. We want to thank our knitting family for
standing with us as we continue to weather the storm--literally and
figuratively!!
The joys of motherhood have meant a LOT less stuff is getting done
around the shop this year (poor Santa knows what we're talking about,
see left!!). Sending out hand-signed holiday cards became an
impossibility this season, so we hope you'll see past our somewhat
impersonal electronic holiday greeting to the warmth we feel for all of
you. YOU make sharing our passion a joy. It's the connection with each
of you enthusiastic knitters that keeps us going!
Warmest wishes go out to all for a joyous season with your loved ones.
And with yarn. May the coming year bring all of the Y2E family health and
happiness, peace and prosperity.
Our apologies for the recent lack of classes (see joys of motherhood,
above). We hope to get classes back on the schedule post haste!
And finally...check this out: we LOVED this positive new group
formed on Facebook!! We want to help spread a little more good
stuff around the planet and hope you will, too!.
Attitude of Gratitude
NEW STUFF you won't want to miss:
Malabrigo Twist, in
nearly every color! Prism
Symphony and Merino Mia
(can you say "luscious"???). Lorna's Laces Pearl.
Rowan Lima, Lana Grossa TU and Gnocchi, Plymouth Poppin
(see pic).
We're pleased to announce our
online shopping cart is
open for business! After many dedicated hours (thanks Dad!), the
shopping cart can extend your experience 24/7. We hope it will be
convenient for those that live a "little further out"! Of course,
coming into the shop and touching, feeling, and sharing your knitting
experience, strength and hope with us can't be replaced by a cold, hard
computer, but when you know what you want....
The shopping cart will ALWAYS be a WIP (we all know what a Work In
Progress is, right?), and inventory is updated daily rather than
real-time, but yippee!!! You can now shop at 2am in nothing but
handknit socks!!!
SALE: Yippeeeeeee! The end of the year
means something else we love at Y2E!! A sale! We'll
be having our annual "Customer Appreciation" sale for a
whole week!! 12/26-1/3 What's on sale? How about all
Alchemy, GGH brand (which does NOT include Touch Me), Claudia's,
Araucania, O-Wool and Mirasol at 30% off? How about books at 40% off?
And best of all...we're making some room for the upcoming new spring
yarns, so of course, we'll have all clearance yarn at $3.50/ball (many
below our cost!). And we've pulled some really great new stuff for the
clearance wall. We can't tell you what it is just yet, but we'll be
putting it out throughout the entire sale, so come early and come often!

Fri 12/25--closed
(resume normal hours Sat 12/26)
Thurs 12/31--10-7 (normal hours)

Helmet
Liner Update: We try to think of others all year, but the
holidays are the time of year to really focus on giving. To
that end, we want to remind everyone about the helmet liner drive for
the troops. Although we've collected quite a few helmet liners, we've
recently been informed of changes in the drive. Due to fit issues which
affect visibility, the military is no longer accepting crocheted
liners. We understand they STRONGLY desire black, brown, gray or
tan--no more greens of any kind. We've just gotten this news this past
week. While we're going to try and send the crocheted and/or green
helmet liners we've already collected on, please note these changes for
the future. FYI, crocheters can still help out by crocheting warm
scarves for the military guys and gals!! We've also been informed that
a unit at Ellington AFB will be accepting donations, so we're hoping to
go local!

We understand the preferred ribbing length is 7"-8", NOT the 6" called
for in the pattern.
Our FRIDAY KAL (Knit-A-Long) of the
fab-yew-less shrug on the Spring/Summer cover of Vogue has been so much
fun, we've decided to keep that slot (11am) open for another KAL. We
are planning to do either Sally Melville's Einstein Coat or Arwen. Join
us for inspiration, help or even a little therapy! We appreciate your
use of yarn purchased at Y2E for our KAL's.
